270 Where we better have a wiki page by the end of this show Monday, February 2, 2009 [1] [2]
The 404 is a big supporter of open-source information, so we invite our buddy Nic Hill, director of Truth in Numbers: the Wikipedia Story, to shed some light on the site and its ongoing controversy. He gives us the full rundown on how Wikipedia works, his experience working on the film, and his travels around the world expounding the merits of information and community.

271 Where we refuse to ever DP a Christian Bale movie Tuesday, February 3, 2009 [3] [4]
Why are so many celebrities such DIVAS!? We start off today's show with a heinous recording of Christian Bale freaking out on an innocent director of photography on the set of the new terminator. We also refuse to accept Michael Phelps for getting his herb on, but we do give Miley Cyrus a grand slam for slanting her eyes in a photo.

272 Where Alison Rosen comments on freakishly large milk printers Wednesday, February 4, 2009 [5] [6]
She's a writer, a blogger, TV personality, and comedian. She's a Jaquelyn-of-all-trades. But her name isn't Jaquelyn--it's Alison, with a Rosen afterward. We usually don't trust Natali Del Conte's guest recommendations, but we make an exception just this once and it pays off, because Alison truly does understand our brand of "juvenile" humor. This episode is all about milk jugs, printer ink, YouTube porno, sleep boning, and much more. I think Alison just won Dirty Birdy of the Month.

273 Where Justin crosses Jeff's line Thursday, February 5, 2009 [7] [8]
Today marks a very strange day for The 404. If this is your first time listening to The 404, you picked a good one because this is something of a milestone. Recently it's come to our attention that the show is becoming more tabloidy and less anecdotal...which is bad. So check out this show baby- tons of personal stories about statewide bagging competitions, DTV delays, voluntary amputation, wikipedia editing, and the best place to spend spring break. If you're a veteran listener, prepare yourself for total domination...wait, was that a video game reference or a quote from Bring It On? Shoot. See?

274 Where the afterlife ain't what it's cracked up to be Friday, February 6, 2009 [9] [10]
We talk a lot about drug legalization, but the truth is that Steve Guttenberg is the only drug we need to get us through the day. He joins us for a very compelling conversation about the afterlife, and we even start to get metaphysical--don't worry, we don't get into it for too long. After that, we get into a story about a very unique monthly calendar, our weekend plans, and what exactly is causing that peculiar maple syrup smell in New York.

275 Where Wilson Kindled himself Monday, February 9, 2009 [11] [12]
Wilson is off getting Kindled, so Jeff and I take the show by the horns and relate our weekend stories. I got a chance to watch the live taping of Saturday Night Live, and sat next to Kirsten Dunst (yes, I wussed out and didn't ask her to come on the show). I also checked out Comic Con on Sunday, and a big thanks to David from Comixology for hooking it up with his extra pass. Listen in to today's show for a two-man conversation about Twitter spam, child subway performers, more opinions on the Michael Phelps controversy, and more!

276 Where we prefer Pitas to PETA Tuesday, February 10, 2009 [13] [14]
Wilson's back on the show to prove that two Chinese men are always better than one. He brings back news of the Kindle 2, which leads us to a discussion about the books of Scholastic yore- like Goosebumps, Choose Your Own Adventure, Flowers in the Attic, Bunnicula, and the Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. Okay, I might be the only one who read that last one. We quickly move on to less awkward topics, like FarmersOnly.com--an online dating site catered to farmers looking for love...from other farmers, get your mind out of the gutter. Which leads us to a dirtier conversation: would any of us ever try an online dating site? Peep game on today's show to find out!

277 Where it's too early for Veronica to podcast Wednesday, February 11, 2009 [15] [16]
Veronica Belmont of Revision3's Tekzilla and PlayStation's Qore rubs the sleep out of her eyes and joins us on today's show all the way from San Francisco. We chew up a little East Cost/West Coast beef, address Justin and Veronica's fleeting encounter at CES 2009, and jump right into our Valentine's Day plans. The three of us discuss our lonely and pathetic V-Day schedules, but we're all floored when Veronica reveals her top-secret wild and crazy plans. I'm not even sure where she rented a crane and a trailer full of Capuchin monkeys from, but hopefully it all goes to plan!

278 Where we stab ourselves to deaf with Knife Music Thursday, February 12, 2009 [17] [18]
Today we get down and dirty with David Carnoy, Executive Editor and resident tech carnoysseur at CNET.com. As a self-published author (check out his book at KnifeMusicBook.com), he gives his unique take on the recent Amazon Kindle 2 announcement, iPhone eBook alternatives, and whether or not the Kindle can cordially coexist with tangible novels and newspapers.

279 Where Jason is Rana's bloody Valentine Friday, February 13, 2009 [19] [20]
It's Friday the 13th today, and just one day left before Valentine's Day, so we beg 404 resident hottie biscotti Rana Showbunny of Medialets into the studio to help Jeff decide what to get his girlfriend for the holiday. Her answer is definitely the opposite from what we thought! Meanwhile, I think all hope is lost for Wilson and me...I can't speak for him, but I know that by this time tomorrow I'll be curled up in the fetal position with a Snuggie watching A Walk to Remember and polishing off a Dumpster's worth of Slim Jims. After all, not all of us can be single by choice like Miss Sobhany. She also gives us her professional opinion on this terrible "25 things" survey going around on Facebook, and somewhere during the show I manage to break off my own swagger--take that metaphor any way you'd like, just be sure to download the show. And don't even think about it, I already asked Rana to be my Valentine- she said "absolutely not," but still.

280 Where we get Synched Up with Rich DeMuro Tuesday, February 17, 2009 [21] [22]
We have a sneaking suspicion that Natali Del Conte crept into the podcast studio over the weekend and planted a cherry bomb in our computer, because we run very, very close to losing the entire recording of today's show with Rich DeMuro of Synched Up. Luckily, Wilson "Al Borland" Tang is able to save the show, and although the audio isn't quite up to par, we gotta make do with what we got (it's not a lot).

281 Where Clayton Morris swims with the fishes Wednesday, February 18, 2009 [23] [24]
From Fox and Friends, Clayton Morris joins us again today to talk about how to survive a shark attack by punching the killer fish, while Wilson tells you not to go in the water when you're on your monthly cycle. (Hint: piranhas are vampire lesbians.)

282 Where there's mutiny on the bounty! Thursday, February 19, 2009 [25] [26]
Dan Levy has us on his podcast On the DL, where we discuss the future of online media and why Wilson hates the chat room. Twitter says that Justin is the best dressed on the show. T-Mobile announces a $50 unlimited voice calling plan. Justin's dad kills the world's largest rat. Nintendo launches the DSi, and Boxee pulls Hulu support as well as TV.com. Wow, we are actually discussing some technology news today.

283 Where we eat Brooke Showell's bacon-bit cupcakes Friday, February 20, 2009 [27] [28]
From Urban Baby, Brooke Showell joins us on the show today to teach us where babies come from and how to take care of them. Along the way, Wilson learns that babies don't come from the stork or out of a trash can. Apparently, urban babies don't sell drugs either. Brooke says kids are learning how to use BlackBerrys before they can poop by themselves. This causes Jeff to reconsider having kids in his life. One last props for Ms. Showell: She brought us cupcakes! With bacon bits (not really, but Justin got really excited)!

284 Where Heavy & Flo thank Mr. Roboto for his pencil Monday, February 23, 2009 [29] [30]
The Oscars were on last night, so Heavy & Flow think it's an appropriate time to make fun of Japanese men, who can barely speak English. OK, Mr. Yu and Mr. Tang seem to think that it's pretty damn funny, too, when he thanks his pencil. Flow recounts her story of discovering bacon in the women's restroom. Wilson asks Heavy to prove that she really can wear the BraDryer. Conan O'Brien leaves New York for L.A. Good luck with that one! And Justin tells us about his experience with ear douching.

285 Where Tuesday is not fat; it's big-boned Tuesday, February 24, 2009 [31] [32]
Jeff Bakalar makes his return on Fat Tuesday--how appropriate. Justin reveals to the world that he loves Alvin & the Chipmunks, on top of his fascination with Disney music. Disney we can forgive, but really? An Alvin & the Chipmunks cover of "Uptown Girl?" And we figure out that Alvin wears a giant "A" because he's committed adultery.

286 Where we turn up the heat with Scott Jones Wednesday, February 25, 2009 [33] [34]
Scott Jones from online gaming web site Crispy Gamer comes to the show to talk about everything under the sun, including his stint as a writer at a porn magazine and the video game industry in general. Jeff and Scott wonder why anybody would ever buy the new Nintendo DS, while Wilson reminds everyone that there are a billion Asian girls who love cute gadgets.

287 Where our mouths are agape with a mixture of pleasure, longing, and duck meat Thursday, February 26, 2009 [35] [36]
Jeff, Justin, and Wilson start the show off right today with a SNL Christopher Walken reference. Always a great way to start the day. Getting into actual stories, we chat about ways to actually sleep. Tip No. 1: Sleep when you are tired. iTunes launches an indie music store. Gore Verbinski decides to make a video game based on "Clue." And yes, people stalk their exes online.

288 Where Natali opens it all up to us Friday, February 27, 2009 [37] [38]
A new kind of Natali Del Conte joins The 404. She references "Octopussy" and makes us play Marry/Boff/Kill. We can already tell that HR is going to be on us any second. She brings some big news to the show by announcing CBS will be streaming live online via Ustream.tv "The Early Show" on Saturday morning. It's their first attempt at an interactive, live show. We anticipate a rowdy chat room with Natali on.
